as someone who is neurodivergent and often has trouble with communication in social settings, I have had such intensely good experiences with Jill as both a person and a stylist! each time I've been in, Jill has taken the time to sit down with me and go over exactly what my long-term hair goals are, as well as fully laying out all the options available to help me meet those goals. she's got years of expertise that match her talent and artistic abilities which are seamlessly applied to doing hair. couldn't be happier with the services provided, and the salon is always so clean and thoughtfully decorated.

Candice took care of me today and I was very impressed. Very professional, took the time to make sure that I was satisfied - I'm a blonde and can be a bit particular about ledges. My hair looks amazing - I'll be driving back from Portland to get my next haircut from her. - I'll probably pick up some of the plant starts as well when I'm there. Love the space. And they have locally made products - shirts, caps, hand made pots for plants - it's a wonderful space, friendly people, good cup of coffee. Raw Hair Society is a beautiful industrial space full of plants and with lots of space between you and other people. You can tell the business is loved and designed intentionally. I appreciate that they recycle EVERYTHING and are conscientious about the products they're using and selling. They feature local makers alongside the hair products in their shop. Destiny has been doing my hair since I was a poor grad student and has been with me on many hair journeys including my short-lived platinum blonde and way-too-long fluorescent orange phases. She's a straight shooter and is honest about the time and money these styles take. Her color sense is out of this world and she tries to take care of my hair health despite my best efforts. Love her and love this place!

Finding someone comfortable and capable of working with curls is nearly impossible, so I’ve been on the hunt for years. I visited Raw Hair Society after being recommended by a ton of people on Facebook, and I am so glad I did. Candice was my stylist, and she was so kind and clearly knew her way around my hair type. I asked for a big change and she didn’t make me doubt what I wanted like other stylists have in the past (which has made me chicken out before) and she gave me what I wanted! The whole staff was super warm and welcoming and there’s even a cute shop with local vendors. I can not recommend this place enough!

When I first walked in, I was incredibly nervous, as it was my first time at a new salon, and while the reviews were excellent, I had little to no idea what I was walking into. Candice and the person working the desk (was not able to catch her name) were incredible, and eased my nerves. They offered me a drink when I first got in, and provided excellent customer service. I wanted a messy-ish looking wolfcut with a lot of layers, and Candice did an excellent job. She worked well with me when I didn't have a great idea of what I wanted, or how to articulate it, as my hair knowledge is severely lacking. She suggested products, told me how frequently she recommends I use them given my hair type, and was generally an amazing source of knowledge. I will most certainly be coming back. The 4.6 stars are well earned, and I would say this is without a doubt my favourite salon in Corvallis (I forgot to ask Candice to take a picture to accompany my review, so it'll have to wait for the inevitable next time)
